Journal of Military Learning
Editor in Chief

Welcome to this latest iteration of the Journal of Military Learning (JML). This September issue marks a significant transition: the commencement of our 2025 continuous publication cycle. Following our successful special conference edition in February and our biannual edition in April, we will now publish articles as they complete our rigorous peer-review process, ensuring timely dissemination of critical insights to the field. A new edition will launch in January 2026, continuing this dynamic approach.

We are honored to feature a foreword from Col. Ethan J. Diven, the new deputy commanding officer–education, U.S. Army Combined Arms Center. His perspective on educational transformation, faculty development, and the vital connection between theory and practice provides valuable context for the JML’s mission. As Diven highlights, the JML uniquely bridges this gap, offering a platform for scholarly work directly applicable to the challenges facing our force.

The JML remains the U.S. Army’s premier peer-reviewed publication dedicated to the advancement of education and training. We actively solicit contributions addressing the evolving landscape of adult learning, encompassing areas such as education technology, learning theory, competency-based education, distance learning, and training development.

We encourage all military educators and professionals to consider submitting manuscripts for publication. Your research and insights are essential to fostering a culture of continuous learning within the Army and the broader military profession. Detailed submission guidelines are available at https://www.armyupress.army.mil/Journals/Journal-of-Military-Learning.

Thank you for your continued support of the Journal of Military Learning. We look forward to sharing impactful research and fostering a community of knowledge throughout 2025 and beyond.
